The STIHL MSA160C-B is the ideal, reliable chainsaw for cutting firewood, maintenance work and a variety of other jobs around the garden or small holding. Powered by STIHL's AP System battery range, the MSA160C-B delivers power without excessive noise, making it suitable for use in noise-sensitive areas.
As a comparative for petrol driven chainsaws, the MSA160C-B generates a mechanical output of 1.2kW.
With a 30cm/12" bar length*, the MSA160C-B is suitable for cutting logs, pruning and felling small trees.

Battery Information:
The recommended battery for this saw is the AP200S, which provides up to 42 minutes of run time. As part of the STIHL AP System, the MSA160C-B is compatible with a selected range of AP batteries. Maximum working times are:
- AP200S - up to 42 minutes
- AP30 - up to 60 minutes
- AP300S - up to 62 minutes
- AP500S - up to 74 minutes
Batteries and charger are sold separately.
* Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
QuickStop Super Chain Brake
The QuickStop Super Chain Brake provides faster, safer chain braking. The brake is applied if the user releases the rear handle or when the front guard is activated. In addition, if there is a strong kickback the brake will apply and stop the chain instantly.
Quick Chain Tensioning
Easily adjust the chain tension without the need for tools. Simply release the sprocket cover and turn the knob to adjust.
Quick Release Oil Tank Cap
Adding chain oil and fuel is quick and easy with STIHL's quick release tank caps, without the need for any tools.
