ErgoStart is a spring assisted starting system which makes the MS231C-BE exceptionally easy to start. We would always urge caution when storing a chainsaw to ensure that it is kept out of reach of children but we urge extra caution on saws fitted with ErgoStart because of the ease with which these saws can be started.

The STIHL MS231C-BE has a modern design and uses an economical STIHL 2-MIX engine. The engine generates 2.0kW / 2.7hp which gives excellent occasional-use performance.

The MS231C-BE’s engine is fitted with a compensator to ensure that the engine keeps running at peak performance even when the air filter starts to get dirty. The MS231C-BE also features STIHL's long-life air filter system to ensure maximum life from the air filter.

Adding chain oil and fuel is very quick and easy with STIHL's quick release tank caps.

Chain tensioning is achieved on the STIHL's MS231C-BE via the tool-free Quick Chain tensioning system. Just loosen the side case, adjust the chain tension with the adjuster wheel and re-tighten the side case.

The STIHL MS231C-BE is available with a 14” (35cm) or 16” (40cm) guide bar. Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
