Designed for the most complex lawns up to 5,000m­², the Husqvarna Automower® 450X NERA robotic lawn mower allows you to enjoy a perfectly cut lawn without needing to cut the grass yourself.

Whether sunny or raining, if you're at work, at home or on holiday, the 450X NERA will take care of your lawn so you don't have to.

There are two methods of installation for the 450X NERA:

• A boundary wire is laid around the lawn - Installation Kit required
• Completely wireless, GPS installation with virtual boundaries - EPOS™ Plug-In Kit required

This robot lawn mower is fully programmable to cut your lawn at times that are convenient for you. Some examples of this are night-time cutting only, cutting between 9-5 on a weekday, or cutting early in the morning only. Changing the cutting schedule is simple to do via the Automower® Connect app which can be installed on a smartphone.

Producing noise to levels at just 58dB(A), you'll never need to worry about disturbing yourself or your neighbours - even during the night.

During your decided operating hours, the Automower® 450X NERA will cut the lawn and, when ready to recharge, finds its own way back to its charging station. When charging is complete, the mower returns to work.

A weather sensor assesses the rate of growth of the grass and adapts the cutting time accordingly. The mower is automatically guided through narrow passages to ensure that even the narrowest of grassed areas get cut and a spot mowing feature ensures that areas of longer grass are also cut. The smart technology also allows the height of cut to be adjusted electronically.

Husqvarna’s Automower® Connect is fitted as standard (Husqvarna provide 10 years free connectivity) allowing you to control your Automower® from your smartphone. Wherever you are, you can get status updates from your mower, control start and stop functions, change menu settings and receive alarms in case of theft.

Because the Husqvarna Automower® 450X NERA is cutting the grass regularly, the grass clippings are tiny. The grass hardly has time to grow before it is being cut again so the grass is less stressed by the cutting and the tiny clippings just disappear back into your lawn. Less stress and free nutrients make for a greener and healthier lawn.

If you are worried about security and safety, the Automower® 450X NERA has an in-built alarm that sounds when the mower is lifted and the blades stop automatically. This model is also fitted with GPS theft tracking. A PIN code is required to start the mower and lift it without the alarm sounding. So if you are worried about curious little fingers or light fingers then Husqvarna have it covered.

You’ll soon find that your new robot mower is one of the family, and you’ll probably give it a name too!

Installation Method 1

If opting for a traditional installation, a boundary wire will need to be installed around the perimeter of your lawn as well as any internal obstacles such as flower beds or ponds. The wire can either be buried or pegged to the surface, both of which will be hidden from sight.

The boundary wire keeps the Automower® 450X NERA on your lawn. When the mower approaches the boundary it will sense the wire and turn in a random direction to continue cutting. The random cutting pattern means that all of the grass gets cut, even tight corners, and there are no wheel markings left in the lawn.

Where there are obstacles such as trees or furniture inside your lawn, the 450X NERA will cut right up to them and simply bump into them, reverse and turn away.

Please note, if you opt for a 'wired' installation, an installation kit must be ordered separately to enable installation of this Automower®. There are three kits available for different sized gardens:

• Small Kit - Suitable for open lawn areas of max 800 m² or complex lawn areas of max 400 m².
• Medium Kit - Suitable for open lawn areas of max 2000 m² or complex lawn areas of max 1000 m².
• Large Kit - Suitable for open lawn areas of max 5000 m² or complex lawn areas of max 2500 m².

Installation Method 2

Alternatively, if you would prefer to avoid the installation of wires in your lawn, an optional EPOS™ Plug-In Kit will achieve a GPS only installation, allowing you to create virtual boundaries via the Automower® Connect app and avoid the need for a boundary wire to be laid.

The EPOS™ system uses satellites and a local reference station to achieve 2-3cm accuracy. Signals are received by the mower from both satellites and the local reference station (included as part of the EPOS™ Plug-In Kit) so the mower needs an unimpeded view of the sky and the local reference station to allow data signals and correction data to be received. Tall buildings and trees can block the signals.

Regardless of the installation method used, the Automower® 450X NERA is packed with smart technology. A GPS sensor helps to ensure all areas of the lawn are cut regularly. This is especially useful in complex gardens where the random pattern of cutting alone may not get the mower to all areas of the lawn with the same regularity.
