Mountfield’s long history of producing mowers and Honda’s expertise in producing engines come together in the Mountfield SP555V 4-wheeled mower.

The chassis of the SP555V is a hybrid construction. The cutter deck is galvanised steel for a long life and the rear of the mower, where most strength is needed, is aluminium.

A self propelled drive system takes the strain of propelling the mower around the lawn. The drive speed is variable between 2.7 and 4.4 kilometres per hour.

Mountfield have fitted the Twinclip blade to the SP555V. Rather than the usual two cutting edges, the Twinclip blade has four cutting edges. The first edge gives an initial reduction to the grass length and the second edge gives a fine finish at the desired height of cut which is set via a single lever offering seven positions between 25 and 77mm.

The Honda engine fitted to this mower is a modern design and meets the latest noise and emissions standards. As with all Honda engines, the engine fitted to the SP555V is easy to start.

The grass collector capacity is a generous 70 litres. A mulch plug is supplied as standard giving you the option to mulch but if neither collection nor mulching are suitable the clippings can simply be discharged onto the lawn from the rear of the mower.

Adjustable handles mean that operators of varying heights can easily be accommodated and a vibration control system ensures that this mower is very comfortable to use.

The Mountfield SP555V comes with a domestic use warranty of 5 years on the mower and 2 years on the engine.
