STIHL's MS231 chainsaw fits into STIHL's range towards the top of their ‘occasional use’ range. The MS231 has a 42.6cc engine which makes it ideal for more demanding homeowners and occasional commercial users such as farmers, landscape contractors and construction workers.
Ideal for cutting firewood, felling small trees and working with construction wood, the STIHL MS231 has a modern design and uses an economical STIHL 2-MIX engine. The engine generates 2.0kW / 2.7hp which gives excellent occasional-use performance.
The MS231 engine is fitted with a compensator to ensure that the engine keeps running at peak performance even when the air filter starts to get dirty. The MS231 also features STIHL's long-life air filter system to ensure maximum life from the air filter.
Adding chain oil and fuel is very quick and easy with STIHL's quick release tank caps.
Chain tensioning is achieved on the STIHL MS231 by loosening just a single nut (combination tool provided) and using the side chain tensioner which keeps your hands away from the chain whilst turning the adjuster.
The STIHL MS231 chainsaw has an excellent reputation for performance and reliability and is trusted by many users.
The STIHL MS231 is available with a 14” (35cm) or 16” (40cm) guide bar. Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
